Hard to believe how much worse the High School admissions process was just five years ago, from my vantage point of stepping into the insanity for the first time this year. Should I even bother trying to understand it? Or just have faith that the system is fair?
Actually, this article and the graphic does a pretty good job of explaining it. Better than anything I’ve heard from the DOE so far.
So the current matching system is an improvement. But I’d still like it to be explained, in plain language that doesn’t require a Ph.D in economics to be understood.
The DOE still owes all families a clear explanation to gain our trust in their genuine interest in ensuring equitable access for all.
