Problem/Question
This grass-roots non-profit affordable housing developer and manager wanted evidenced-based advice on organizational restructuring as part of a growth plan during its build-out of new affordable housing projects on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. They wanted help with staffing that aligned with future goals, board development and performance evaluations.
Outcomes
Advised affordable housing developer on multiple projects over 10 years including: developing a plan to increase their property management capacity of a growing 350+ housing portfolio including in-house and contracted resources; advising ED and Board on operations improvement and staffing plans to align with long-term goals, establishing IT support and risk management controls; doubling the number of board members and establishing active committees; designing a customized performance evaluation system, including staff and Executive Director.
