Problem/Question

This grass-roots non-profit affordable housing developer and manager wanted evidenced-based advice on organizational restructuring as part of a growth plan during its build-out of new affordable housing projects on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. They wanted help with staffing that aligned with future goals, board development and performance evaluations.

Outcome

Advised affordable housing developer on multiple projects over 10 years:   a plan to increase their property management capacity of a 350+ housing portfolio worked with ED and board of directors to develop a growth plan; developed detailed operations improvement and staffing plans that align with their long-term goals, established IT support and risk management controls; doubled the number of board members and established active committees; designed the first performance evaluation system, including all staff and the Executive Director.
