Evaluating Constituent Needs and Engagement
Client
Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies (FPWA)
Problem/Question
The Public Good was hired to assess the impact and scalability of its nascent Federal Funds Tracker (FFT) budget monitoring and advocacy tool. As a member-based advocacy agency, FPWA needed to know which of its members were using the FFT, to what end, what members thought about the tool to recommend what additional resources and enhancements could help it gain more traction. We analyzed FPWA’s internal business operations including its investment in the tool, deployed a survey to FPWA’s non-profit members and conducted expert stakeholder interviews to gather feedback on users’ experience and needs related to the FFT tool.
Outcomes
Our research and analysis provided FPWA with the first comprehensive assessment of who was benefitting, who was left out and what technical and systemic enhancements could lead to greater impact among its membership, resulting in short and long-term decisions related to the tool’s development.
